Find answers to common questions about using Tutor Marketplace.

Browse our tutor directory, find someone who matches your subject and level, then send a booking request with your preferred date and time. The tutor will review and accept or decline your request. Once accepted, you’ll be prompted to pay securely via Stripe. After payment, your lesson is confirmed and you’ll find all the details in My Bookings.
You only pay after a tutor accepts your request — we never charge upfront. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. If a lesson doesn’t go ahead, you may be eligible for a full refund depending on when you cancel. See our cancellation policy below for details.
Yes! Every tutor offers a free 30-minute trial lesson. Your child gets a real session in our full interactive classroom — whiteboard, notes, files, and chat — with no payment required. If you love it, book more sessions. If not, try another tutor.
Lessons take place in our built-in video room — no downloads or extra accounts needed. When it’s time for your lesson, go to My Bookings, open the booking, and click Join Lesson. You’ll enter a private video call with your tutor, right in your browser. Camera and microphone permissions will be requested automatically.
You can cancel an upcoming booking from My Bookings. If you cancel more than 24 hours before the lesson start time, you’ll receive a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours may not be eligible for a refund. Tutors can also cancel — in that case, you’ll always receive a full refund.
Visit our Become a Tutor page to learn about the requirements and apply. Once approved, you’ll set up your profile, subjects, pricing, and availability. Students can then find and book you directly.
