Why we ask who you are before your first message

Before your first message goes to a tutor we ask your name, whether you're a parent, an adult learner or a student, and the student's year level. A tutor should know who is writing to them. Write your first message to a tutor and press send. A sheet called Before you send asks for the details that are missing. Fill it in once. Tap Save and send. Your message goes by itself. What the tutor sees Your name, one line such as "Parent/guardian · Year 9", and whether you have a card saved (never which card). Never your email address, your phone number or a guardian's details. A student under 18 is also asked for a parent or guardian's name and mobile. Your own mobile is optional. To change any of it later, open Settings and find About you.
