My child writes long essays but doesn't get high marks. What's the problem?
The most common issue is narrative mode — writing what happened, chronologically, without a clear argument. HSC and VCE markers reward interpretation and thesis. Length doesn't compensate for a missing argument. Our tutors specifically target this.
How many historians does my child need to know?
For HSC Modern History, a strong student can cite 2-3 historians per topic fluently. For top bands, they should know a range of interpretations and be able to argue for and against them. Our tutors help build this historian bank systematically.
