The short answer
NESA has published a new two-page reference sheet for the 2027 HSC Mathematics Advanced exam, and it's printed at the back of the paper. It replaces the four-page sheet shared with Extension 1 and 2. Most formulas are the same, but some symbols have changed, the outlier rule is gone, and there are new formulas for continuous random variables. Practise with the new sheet, because old papers came with the old one.

- 2027
- the first HSC exam with this sheet
Students sitting the HSC in 2027 get a new reference sheet with a new syllabus. If you've been using the sheet from past papers, some of what you remember has moved, changed its symbols or gone. This guide covers what's on the new sheet, what's different, and how to get the most from it.
What the sheet is
The reference sheet is printed at the back of the HSC exam paper, so you don't bring your own or have to memorise what's on it. The 2027 sheet is two pages and covers Mathematics Advanced only. The old sheet was four pages, shared with Extension 1 and Extension 2.
